"Start Spreading the News” – The State Theatre 25th Anniversary Gala was a huge success! The State Theatre celebrated our 25th Anniversary Benefit Gala on May 11, 2013, and raised an astonishing $616,072! Along with the 531 Gala attendees, an additional 1,212 patrons attended the Gala performance of Liza Minnelli In Concert, selling out the house! Following Liza’s performance, Gala attendees finished out the night with a Dinner Dance at the Heldrich Hotel complete with a silent auction, raffle, 50/50, and dancing until midnight! Liza Minnelli thrilled the capacity crowd with an unforgettable concert, performing classic hits like “New York, New York” and “Cabaret” as well as songs from her latest album, Confessions. The State Theatre Gala is our biggest annual event—raising money to support our nationally recognized education programs and world-class entertainment. The Silent Auction alone raised just over $25,000, and the 50/50 was won by a State Theatre Board Member, Caryl Mackin-Wagner, who generously donated her portion back to the Theatre. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who helped in making the evening a huge success. The Benefit Gala underwrites the State Theatre’s artistically acclaimed programming and nationally recognized arts education programs. Additionally, we would like to send a big thank you to Tiffany and Co. who provided beautiful custom awards for each of the honorees.
