•  We use 55 basic fluorescent bulbs in the second-floor lobby of the theater

    (The Heldrich room). 

 

•  We use 155 high-efficiency cold-cathode bulbs for our marquee. These bulbs use 

    one-eighth the electricity and can last up to 12 times longer than conventional bulbs!

 

•  We recently changed the theater’s thermostat to multi-function programmable
    units to run HVAC only as needed. 

 

•  We reprogrammed our automatic lights and marquee for maximum energy efficiency.

 

•  We replaced our old stage lighting instruments, which required 1,000-watt bulbs,
    with new 575-watt fixtures.

 

•  We converted the ballasts in our fluorescent office lighting to accept lower-wattage 
    fluorescent bulbs.

 

•  We replaced all of our old-style water coolers with water filtration units that tap directly

   into our regular water supply. Not only does our water taste better, we have eliminated

   both the plastic bottles and the need to have our drinking water delivered by truck...

   saving fossil fuels in two ways!
    

•  We now omit the use of the paper order forms in all brochures. 

 

•  The Education Department launched a "Go Green" campaign, encouraging schools to 
    switch to email and the Internet for communication and information sharing. Our goal is to

    make significant reductions in the amount of paper consumed: from brochures and order

    forms to invoices and study guides. The switch will also make information flow a lot faster!

 

•  The State Theatre uses FSC certified printers for select print materials.
 

 

•  All interior wall sconces are run on 8w and 12w cold cathode bulbs (as opposed to 60 watt incandescent bulbs).

 

•  All our bathroom paper products are Tork Products, which are Green Seal-certified 100% recycled paper. Plus, the dispensing systems for our Tork Products reduce consumption and waste.
