Symphony No. 9

Beethoven’s glorious Ninth Symphony celebrates the bonds that unite humankind. Tracing a journey from doubt to affirmation, it culminates in the stirring “Ode to Joy.” Higdon’s blue cathedral captures “a feeling of celebration and ecstatic expansion of the soul,” setting the stage perfectly for Beethoven’s most joyous masterpiece.

This concert will be performed without an intermission.
