On weekends, the State Theatre Ticket Office is open at least 3 hours prior to any performance we ticket unless otherwise specified. Please refer to show event pages or upcoming events via our phone system for specific information.

All sales are final. No refunds unless the show is cancelled. Due to the nature of live performance, all artists, programs, policies, dates, times, prices, and discounts are subject to change (or cancellation) without notice. Discounts (and Rewards Club redemptions) cannot be combined and are not retroactive. Promotions, discounts, ticket exchanges, and donation policies do not apply to rental events unless otherwise specified. State Theatre accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.



TICKET EXCHANGES
For a $9 fee, ticket exchanges are permitted for State Theatre presented events no later than 24 hours prior to a performance (and during Ticket Office operating hours). The original ticket purchaser must call 732-246-7469 or visit the State Theatre Ticket Office to exchange tickets. Exchange options are:
    1) donate the ticket money to the State Theatre as a tax-deductible contribution;
    2) exchange the ticket money directly into another State Theatre presented event; or
    3) put the ticket money on the purchaser's State Theatre account, to be applied to a future
        State Theatre
presented event, for up to one year from the date of exchange.
Exchanges are not permitted within 24 hours prior to a performance. Exchanges must be initiated by the original ticket purchaser. The value of exchanged ticket monies must be redeemed within one year (365 days) of the date of the exchange and expire thereafter.  Exchange values can only be applied to tickets for State Theatre presented events and cannot be used for any other goods or services.Ticket sales for rental events are final sales and exchanges are not permitted. Additional fees charged when tickets are sold are non-exchangeable. 



TICKET FEES
A $3 per ticket facility applies to all orders. A $9 per order transaction fee applies to all phone and internet sales. Miscellaneous service fees apply to Tickets Plus, Dining, and Getaway packages. 



REWARDS CLUB
Every Time You Buy 9 Tickets, Your 10th Ticket is Free. We track your purchases and give you every 10th ticket as a Free Rewards Ticket. FREE REWARDS TICKETS TERMS AND POLICIES - Only full priced tickets for State Theatre presented events count towards Free Rewards Tickets earnings. Free Rewards Tickets issued are 1) no greater than the lowest priced ticket at the time of purchase; 2) not issued for Gold Circle or Loge seating, rental events, and select State Theatre presentations; and 3) limited per show, which are available on a first come first served basis. Free Rewards Tickets are not available for every show. All programs are subject to change. Discounts are not retroactive. Fees and restrictions may apply. 



INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

In the case of inclement weather, refunds will be awarded only if the show is cancelled. Ticket exchanges are permitted, for State Theatre presented events only, no later than 24 hours prior to the performance. If the performers are present at the State Theatre, then the performance will take place. If the performance is re-scheduled, then the original tickets issued are valid for the new date. In the event that a show is cancelled, we will make every effort to inform all ticketed customers via phone and email as soon as we can.



TICKET UPGRADES
Based upon availability, ticket upgrades are permitted up until curtain and patron must pay any difference in the cost of the upgraded ticket price. There is also a $9 transaction fee for upgrading.



DISCOUNTS
Ticket discounts are offered at the discretion of theater management. Discounts are not retroactive and cannot be combined (unless otherwise specified). Click here for available State Theatre discounts >



VOUCHERS & COUPONS
Vouchers and coupons are valid for up to one year from the date issued  and are only valid for select State Theatre events (not all events apply). To receive your tickets you must hand deliver or mail your voucher or coupon to the State Theatre Ticket Office (15 Livingston Ave, New Brunswick, NJ 08901) with your performance request(s). Vouchers and coupons do not serve as admission and must be redeemed for actual tickets. Tickets are subject to availability and location of seats is at the discretion of the Ticket Office (vouchers or coupons cannot be redeemed for seating in the Gold Circle or Loge). Vouchers or coupons will not be honored if altered or reproduced in any way. They are not transferable and are not redeemable for cash. Vouchers or coupons cannot be combined with other discounts or offers. No upgrades in seating area are permitted. Vouchers and coupons are not valid for rental events. State Theatre complimentary ticket vouchers and coupons have no monetary value.


 
REQUESTING TICKETS FOR CHARITABLE CAUSES & EVENTS
To request a ticket donation on behalf of your 501(c)3 organization, you must fill out the following application >. Your request will be reviewed and you will receive a follow-up email as to the status of your request. Please allow 2-3 weeks for the request to be processed. GIFT CARDS
Gift cards can be ordered in any increment and are valid for five years from the date of issue. State Theatre Gift Cards cannot be redeemed for NJSO tickets or any other tickets that are not sold through the State Theatre Ticket Office. REFUNDS & CREDITS
Once an order is placed, there are NO REFUNDS on tickets unless the event is cancelled. Refunds are only made to the original purchaser and are issued for the value of the tickets only. Processing fees are non-refundable. In the event of a cancellation, every effort will be made to notify you using the contact information you provided upon ticket purchase. No refunds or credits may be carried over to a new season.



SEATING POLICIES

Late Seating:
Traffic and parking around the theater can become congested prior to a performance. We suggest that you allow extra time to arrive relaxed and ready to enjoy your event. Those arriving after a performance has begun will be seated at the discretion of the State Theatre staff. All late arriving patrons should expect to be seated after the first intermission for most events.

Child Seating Policy: State Theatre reserves the right to remove anyone from the theater who causes a disturbance or disrupts other customers’ experience(s). Content is at the artists’ discretion. Customers who are removed from the theater will not receive a refund. All sales are final and there are NO refunds unless the show is cancelled. Please refer to each event page for the ages we strongly recommend as appropriate for each performance. No children under the age of 14 are permitted into the theater without a parent or guardian. Children will not be seated without a parent or guardian. 

Infant Voucher:

Free infant lap vouchers are available for Children 11 months or younger for certain events geared towards very young children. When available, information regarding free infant lap vouchers will be posted on the webpage for that specific event, or please call the Ticket Office. If your child will have reached his or her first birthday by the date of the performance, he or she must have a paid ticket. No individual will be admitted into the audience chamber without either a paid ticket or a free infant lap voucher.



SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS
If you have a special accommodation request (e.g. wheelchair seating, medical needs) please let us know by using the comments section of your order or by calling the ticket office for instructions before placing your order. 

ACCESSIBILITY SERVICES


The main floor is accessible to patrons using wheelchairs. The theater does not have an elevator. Infra-red listening devices and large print programs are available upon request from an usher, or visit the lower-lobby coat check. Deaf and hearing-impaired patrons may contact us through the NJ Relay Service at (TTY) 800-852-7899.
